During the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020, Nature9 Foundation distributed essential ration kits to railway porters (coolies) and daily wage workers at Chandigarh Railway Station — among the most economically vulnerable, having lost their livelihoods overnight. Each kit contained rice, flour, pulses, cooking oil, spices, salt, tea, sugar, and basic hygiene items, sufficient for a family for two weeks.
